The DVD features the animated characters "Beatz" and "Myk" who are modeled after the Baby Jamz Microphone and Music Boom Box toys. Beatz and Myk spend a day with their special friends Julez, Carlos, Jasmine and Simon. The characters, who alternate between animated and live action worlds, join us in singing songs, learning shapes, letters, numbers and colors, exploring making music with their own bodies and modeling good behavior like healthy eating and picking up after themselves:
In “Wheels on the Bus,” Beatz and Myk guide the youngsters and their friends through a successful morning including dressing, hygiene, and healthy eating habits. They also explore shape recognition focusing on listening and sequencing.
 In “This Old Man” viewers can dance and move with our live action characters while they practice body part identification and basic counting.
Beatz and Myk then take us off to Old Macdonald’s Farm where we explore animal sounds, color and word recognition and rhyming as steps for pre-literacy. The characters also lead interactive rhythmic exercises designed for motor skill development via physical mirroring and left and right brain stimulation.
When it’s time to get outside and play, Beatz, Myk and the kids enter a magical garden where multicolored seeds grow into animated flowers. To the tune of “Mary, Mary Quite Contrary,” Beatz and Myk spark an early appreciation for nature, sharing the process of growing plants and the special relationship between sun, water, earth and life.
Finally, our friends head inside to wind down with “Twinkle-Twinkle” as sparkling, animated stars help settle our viewers into a restful “good nap or good night.”
Meet “Beatz and Myk” was produced and directed for Music World Kids and Planet Toys by Stompbox Creative and incorporates charming live action footage shot on location @ the Children’s Museum in Houston, Texas; along with original 2D animation.
